Our school kitchen is run by Hertfordshire Catering. School meals currently cost £2.40 per day (£12.00 per week). All school meals must be paid for in advance on Mondays either weekly, monthly or termly. Cheques should be made payable to Hertfordshire Catering Limited. All monies must be sent in to school in a named envelope with amount and class.
Free school meals must be authorised by Herts County Council before they can be given to a child at school. Meals must be paid for until the entitlement has been approved. If the meals are back-dated, refunds will then be issued. If you think you may be entitled to free school meals, an application must be made either on line at www.hertsdirect.org/freeschoolmeals or by telephone to Customer Service Centre on 0300 123 4048
School milk is free to children under five and for those children authorised as free school meals. If your child has their fifth birthday during the term, milk has to be paid for that entire term. The current cost of school milk for the Spring Term is £15.34. Cheques should be made payable to Hertfordshire County Council. Payment can also be made via our Schoolcomms.
May we add that school milk is being provided at reduced prices as a result of European Community subsidy and that milk is good for the children. Our school is also part of the Healthy Schools programme and all of our children in early years KS1 receive free fruit every day at morning snack time.
